What Is ZKsync (ETH)?

zkSync is a second layer blockchain, also called «layer 2», built on Ethereum, in order to improve its performance and user experience. Created in 2018 by Matter Labs, a collective of computer scientists from the Ethereum ecosystem, the zkSync blockchain chooses the technology of zero-knowledge rollups (or zkRollups) for its general purpose layer 2.

What Makes ZKsync Unique?

As the name suggests, zkSync uses zkRollups technology. It is therefore important to recall their operation, their advantages and disadvantages. zkRollups are scalability solutions using two technologies: rollups and zero-knowledge proofs (or zero-disclosure evidence of knowledge).
